SUMMARY
The primary role of the Custodian is responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility including offices, bathrooms, break rooms and the plant. Effectively clean and sanitize using appropriate chemicals and application methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
- Clean offices, lobby, restrooms, break rooms, locker areas, outdoor break areas, and shop floor.
- Duties include picking up debris, restocking supplies, cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks and surfaces, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting and removing cobwebs, cleaning drink dispensers, refrigerators, microwaves, and floor care.
- Ensure drains are working properly or unclog as needed. Clean water dispensers, fountains, and eye wash areas.
- Know and use chemicals safely, following instructions and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Remove trash from plant, office, and breakroom areas.
- Floor care, including sweeping, mopping and scrubbing tile floors and vacuuming and cleaning carpeted floors. Floor care includes using the floor sweeper on the shop floor.
- Clean windows and windowsills.
- Keep inventory of supplies and order when necessary, including kitchen/breakroom supplies.
- Take instructions and guidance from the cleaning schedule and supervisor.
- Maintain exterior of the building as needed including, but not limited to, mowing grass, removing debris, removing snow on sidewalks, and spreading salt during snow/ice events.
- Must use clean tools (mop head, mop bucket water, rags, sponges, etc.).
- Drive forklift to assist in assignments.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training as a custodian.
- Minimum of 1-year previous forklift experience.
- Safety: Able to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
- Communication Skills: Speaks in the most effective way to relay information. Listens and asks questions to ensure understanding.
- Time management skills: Uses time efficiently to complete tasks.
- Sense of urgency: Effectively prioritizes the most important tasks for completion first. Able to determine what is most important.
- Attendance: Must be at work on time and fit for duty every day
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift.
- Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds.
- Must have strong range of motion.
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
- Must be able to see, speak, and hear.
- Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices.
- Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including seatbelt.
- Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds.
- Some aspects of this position may require working in tight quarters.
- Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Driving is an essential function of this position; clean driving record is required.
SALARY
- Minimum $14/hour – Depends on experience.
